Silence, Salt, and SoundCloud: Summer’s Over, We’re Back.

Welcome back to Dailey Weekly: Your Weekend Guide to the Good Stuff!.

Seventy-two days. That’s roughly how long the summer chaos lasts before the school bus pulls up and resets the baseline. Yesterday marked day two of my kiddo heading back to class, and the sudden quiet in the house was my clear sign: summer is over, and it's my green light to get back to the Dailey Weekly.

I took the season off to get up to speed on a new job, log heavy travel miles, and actually enjoy the summer without a deadline hanging over every weekend. The pause was necessary to recalibrate. But the break is finished—expect consistent drops from here through the end of the year. Welcome back, baby.

Let’s get into it. 👊

🔊 The Soundtrack: Annual Poolside Mix

Every summer needs a proper sonic signature—something that feels like late-afternoon sun, cold drinks, and zero obligations. My annual Poolside Mix is officially live. It’s built for warm outdoor speakers, long drives, and good company.

📖 Brand Storytelling at 5:00 AM: Ross Mackay & Cadance

While "grinding" — let's be honest, getting through it on early-morning Peloton rides this summer —I wasn't just burning miles—I was consuming masterclasses in modern brand building. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be dissecting the exact tools, storytelling frameworks, and tactical moves I’ve observed from founders who actually know how to capture attention.

First up: Cadence.

Cadence is a high-performance hydration brand originating in Europe and making serious waves here in the US. They aren't selling sugar-heavy, artificially dyed neon drinks; they produce clean, high-sodium, zero-sugar performance hydration engineered for real physical output.

I got turned on to Cadence through the team at RAW Nutrition and their strategic investment in the brand, driven by RAW founder Dom Iacovone. Watching Ross MacKay build in public is a playbook in authentic positioning. They are detailing every piece of the execution—from scaling the team to launching the Cadence Performance Center. It’s unvarnished, direct, and completely free of corporate speak. That’s how you build real equity in a cluttered CPG landscape

On top of the beverage brand, Ross and team are in the process of launching their performance center in LA, and I am loving seeing the journey and seeing how it all unfolds. Follow along and make sure you check out their latest flavor, Orange Soda; it will bring you back to the joys of Orange Fanta Summer afternoons as a kid.

The hiatus is over, and the engine is running again.

What was the single sharpest brand, product, or album you stashed in your memory bank while off the grid this summer? Hit reply and drop a link—I read every email.
